| Wavecontrol's SMP professional radioelectric measurement equipment now includes a new electromagnetic field probe named the WPF-8, the first field probe on the market to cover the 100 kHz– 8 GHz band. The WPF-8 is a field probe that meets all the requirements imposed by domestic and international electromagnetic field measurement organisations such as ICNIRP, IEC, CENELEC, IEEE, etc. All Wavecontrol's field probes can be connected directly to the SMP reader. The WPF-8 is no exception: the SMP will recognise the probe automatically when it is connected and will take measurements using the corresponding parameters. The most demanding users will find this new probe highly satisfactory: isotropic field detection, RMS measurement, advanced linearity and unbeatable frequency response are just a few of its main characteristics.
The set has a wide range of applications: Site validation and telecommunication infrastructure certification. Radioelectric safety audits. Compliance with the European directive 2004/40/CE on worker safety in electromagnetic fields. The following are the most important standards for use of the set SMP + WPF-8: | EN 50364:2010 | Limitation of human exposure to electromagnetic fields from devices operating in the frequency range 0 Hz to 300 GHz, used in Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and similar applications | | EN 50400:2006 | Basic standard to demonstrate the compliance of fixed equipment for radio transmission (110 MHz - 40 GHz) intended for use in wireless telecommunication networks with the basic restrictions or the reference levels related to general public exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields, when put into service | | EN 50401:2006 | Product standard to demonstrate the compliance of fixed equipment for radio transmission (110 MHz - 40 GHz) intended for use in wireless telecommunication networks with the basic restrictions or the reference levels related to general public exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields, when put into service | | EN 50413:2008 | Basic standard on measurement and calculation procedures for human exposure to electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields (0 Hz - 300 GHz) | | EN 50492:2008 | Basic standard for the in-situ measurement of electromagnetic field strength related to human exposure in the vicinity of base stations | | EN 50496:2008 | Determination of workers' exposure to electromagnetic fields and assessment of risk at a broadcast site | | EN 50499:2008 | Procedure for the assessment of the exposure of workers to electromagnetic fields | | EN 50554:2010 | Basic standard for the in-situ assessment of a broadcast site related to general public exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields | | IEC / EN 62311 | Assessment of electronic and electrical equipment related to human exposure restrictions for electromagnetic fields (0 Hz - 300 GHz) | | IEC / EN 62369-1 | Evaluation of human exposure to electromagnetic fields from short range devices (SRDs) in various applications over the frequency range 0 GHz to 300 GHz -- Part 1: Fields produced by devices used for electronic article surveillance, radio frequency identification and similar systems | | IEEE Std C95.3-1991 | IEEE Recommended Practice for Measurements and Computations of Radio Frequency Electromagnetic Fields With Respect to Human Exposure to Such Fields,100 kHz to 300 GHz | Wavecontrol’s next launch will be the WP-50 probe, another unique probe on the market allowing measurement of electrical and magnetic fields simultaneously, from 20 Hz to 1 kHz.The main application for this probe will be measurement of the fields emitted by high-voltage lines in particular and electrical installations in general. We expect it to be available in April 2011, although we can now accept advance orders with special conditions. If you are interested, please contact Wavecontrol.
