Recent years have seen the rapid expansion of mobile telephone services that provide many benefits but also raise concerns relating to: The MapEM system makes it possible to obtain information on both those factors at once, which was not feasible in the past. Drawing up a comprehensive map of a specific area or region with actual measurements of the strength of the electric field (V/m) at ground level allows us to obtain a “photograph” of the levels of electromagnetic radiation. In addition, the MapEM system allows simultaneous measurement of the signal strength and quality of different telecommunication services and operator networks. The aim is to attain good management of the electromagnetic environment so that a balance can be struck between signal strength and good quality of service and acceptable levels of electromagnetic radiation to protect people and the environment.
