There are different basic criteria, namely technical and social. According to technical criteria, the equipment should be installed where we can measure the highest possible level. This allows us to ensure that all other points will have a lower field strength than the one measured. Telecommunication antennas radiate in a known manner (according to their radiation patterns) and consequently experts know the direction of maximum radiation from each antenna. That circumstance, along with the known fact that the strength of the electromagnetic field decreases with distance, allows us choose the most suitable site. The social criterion determines the need to install the equipment at a critical point or point of special interest, given its social importance.
